Our second meeting of the semester will be on Tuesday, March 4 at the University Ballroom. The speaker will be Eric Bright. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm, but come early if you need to pay your dues.

Math Energy Meeting: Monday, November 12th

Our LAST meeting of the semester will be held on Monday, November 12th at 7:00 pm in the Coleman Auditorium 1255. Registration starts at 6:30 pm, so if this is your first time attending a meeting, please arrive early. Math Energy dues are $6 per semester.

The speaker will be Janet Moore, from NASA.

Also, if you are interested in becoming an Executive Board member next semester, talk to one of the current board members at this meeting. We still have a few spots open for next semester.

Remember that Math Energy is considered a Professional Organization by Eastern Illinois University. Also, in order to be an official member, you have to attend two meetings per semester. This is your last chance! Attendance verification will be available for Math Energy members.

Our third meeting of the semester will be on Monday, October 29th at 7:00 pm in the University Ballroom. Registration starts at 6:30 pm, so if this is your first time attending a meeting, please arrive early. Math Energy dues are $6 per semester.

We are excited to host Game Night! We will be playing various games and activities at different stations that you can then use in your classroom!

Attached are the photos taken at the meeting on October 15th. Patti Davis was the guest speaker, and she talked about the different apps that can be used on iPads in the classroom. Most of the apps were specific to math, but many were useful for the classroom in general.

We are happy to welcome Patti Davis from East Richland Middle School who will share ideas for using iPads in the classroom.

We are excited to announce a new development

Until Oct 26, all active members of math energy will be eligible for a free membership to the National Council of Teachers of mathematics. This is a $40 value, and it will satisfy your PDR sheet requirement for membership to a national organization. Come to Monday’s meeting to sign up.
