Join us at our next Math Energy meeting on Monday, October 28. Note that the meeting place is different from our normal Union location. This time we will be meeting in Coleman Auditorium, room # 1255. Registration begins at 6:30, the talk will begin at 7:00.
Our Speaker is Nicole Enzinger from Illinois State University. Her presentation is titled “Context with Negative Integers: More than a Pedagogical Tool.”
This is the last meeting where you can receive a FREE membership to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics just by becoming an active member of Math Energy. To be an active member you have to attend two meetings and pay dues of $6.
If you are or have been a member of Math Energy, please consider applying to be on our Executive Board. We have a number of openings for next semester and would love to hear from you.
Our second meeting of the semester will be on Tuesday, March 4 at the University Ballroom. The speaker will be Eric Bright. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm, but come early if you need to pay your dues.

Our LAST meeting of the semester will be held on Monday, November 12th at 7:00 pm in the Coleman Auditorium 1255. Registration starts at 6:30 pm, so if this is your first time attending a meeting, please arrive early. Math Energy dues are $6 per semester.
The speaker will be Janet Moore, from NASA.
Also, if you are interested in becoming an Executive Board member next semester, talk to one of the current board members at this meeting. We still have a few spots open for next semester.
Remember that Math Energy is considered a Professional Organization by Eastern Illinois University. Also, in order to be an official member, you have to attend two meetings per semester. This is your last chance! Attendance verification will be available for Math Energy members.
